About the City of Albany, New York​​​​​​​


The City of Albany is the Capital City of New York State and is located in Albany County.  It is one of the three principal cities which make up the Capital Region of New York State.  Over 97,000 people call the City of Albany "home".  


The City of Albany is serviced by the City School District of Albany which has 11 elementary schools, four middle schools, an alternative-education program for middle and high school students, the Albany International Center and Albany High School.  The school district has a faculty of over 1600 serving a student population of over 9300.


The City of Albany has 25 distinctive neighborhoods from Arbor Hill to Washington Park, and many in between.


There are many recreational offerings the City of Albany makes to its residents and visitors, alike including the annual spring time Tulip Festival.
