About Ballston Spa, New York​​​​​​​


The Village of Ballston Spa, measuring 1.6 miles, is located in the Southwest corner of Saratoga County, founded in 1771 by the Reverend Eliphalet Ball.  

The population is approximately 5,200 people who live in the village proper.  


The Ballston Spa School District serves as the public educational facilities with four elementary schools, one middle school and one high school.  The district services over 4300 students of a population of over 31,000.


The village was famous for its mineral water spring that was used for healing in sanatoriums.  The effervescent water, tonic, and cathartic contains common salt, carbonates of magnesium and calcium.  


Some trivia:  Abner Doubleday, the American Civil Ware hero and supposed inventor of baseball, was born in Ballston Spa, New York.
