About the Village of Scotia, New York

The Village of Scotia is found inside the Town of Glenville in Schenectady County.  It is connected with the City of Schenectady by way of the Western Gateway Bridge over the Mohawk River.

Nearly 7800 people call the Village of Scotia "home".

The community is served educationally by the Scotia-Glenville Central School District which has six school buildings, nearly 2500 students and approximately 240 teachers.

Local residents of the Village enjoy fellowship and fun during all seasons of the year in Collins Park found on the Mohawk River as well as nearby Freedom Park.  There is an annual Memorial Day Parade, a July 4th celebration, complete with Fireworks attended by thousands each year and a Village-wide garage sale.

Winter fun activities include sledding and skating.  Summer fun activities include baseball, tennis, swimming, pond and river fishing, picnicking, outdoor summer concerts and water-skiing on the Mohawk River
